Nigel Grandison, DDSPediatric Dentist
Dr. Grandison is passionate about pediatric dentistry and helping your child’s smile grow. Parents who take their kids to either the Pembroke Pines, Florida or Plantation, Florida locations have lovingly referred to him as the “best dentist ever.” Dr. Grandison welcomes your family to his pediatric practice.
Originally from Jamaica, Dr. Grandison attended Morris Brown College in Atlanta, where he graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of science degree. Dr. Grandison then earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine in Farmington, Connecticut.
Once he finished his formal education, Dr. Grandison went on to complete his general practice residency at the Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami. After this time, he moved again to attend the prestigious University of Pittsburgh and serve at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh to complete his pediatric dental residency. His stellar performance awarded him the position of chief resident for one year.
Dr. Grandison has been practicing pediatric dentistry in south Florida for almost 20 years. He’s licensed in dentistry by the state of Florida and holds a certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). He has extensive experience performing pediatric dentistry for young patients under general anesthesia in a hospital setting.
As a well-practiced provider, Dr. Grandison keeps on his toes as a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, as well as a member of the Dade County Dental Society. He also has an affiliation with the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital in Hollywood, Florida.
Dr. Grandison stays busy with his pediatric dentistry patients, but he still makes time for the things he loves: racquetball, soccer, and spending time with his wife and two children.
Stephie Castera, DMDPediatric Dentist
Dr. Castera, also known as Dr. Stephie, was born in Haiti and moved to Florida at the age of eleven. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Food Sciences and Human Nutrition at the University of Florida and also obtained a minor in International Development and Humanitarian Assistance. She then pursued a Master of Science Degree in Biomedical Sciences at Barry University.
Her childhood dream was to become a dentist and Dr. Stephie fulfilled this dream by obtaining her dental degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. She always knew she wanted to work with children and went on to do her specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry at the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, formerly known as the Miami Children’s Hospital. During her training years she was awarded the Tufts Presidential award in Citizenship and Public Service, the Jack and Anne Rubin D75P Endowed Senior Prize Fund in Pediatric Dentistry, and the Robert E. Primosch Academic Excellence Award.
Dr. Stephie prides herself in the attention she gives to each parent and child that steps in the office. She knows that a dental office can be a frightening place for a child and tries her best to make every dental visit pleasant and a positive experience. She can often be heard singing to the children and exchanging stories with them.
When she isn’t practicing dentistry Dr. Stephie enjoys spending time with family, being outdoors, exercising, and traveling. In addition, she has areal passion for helping the underserved and participates in numerous activities to improve the lives of children in her home country of Haiti.
Dr. Stephie is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Florida Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association and the Florida Dental Association.
Tahira Williams, DMDGeneral Dentist
Dr. Williams was raised in Kingston, Jamaica and practices dentistry withthe passionate and fun-loving attitude of the Caribbean culture. She is always smiling and laughing with her patients and dental team. Hercompassionate and caring personality will instantly let you know that youare a part of her family.
Dr. Williams takes great pride in patient education and will make sure that you are always fully informed about yourdental procedures. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology atFairleigh Dickinson University and earned her Doctor of Dental Medicinedegree at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine.
When Dr. Williams isnot in the office, she enjoys cooking, traveling, and working on various DIY projects. She also strongly believes in a healthy lifestyle and triesto stay active by going to the gym.
Growing up in a third world country, Dr. Williams takes great pride in giving back to her community byparticipating in various fundraising events or volunteering for non-profitorganizations.
Dr. Williams is an active member of the American Dental Association and theFlorida Dental Association.
Austin Smith, DMDOrthodontist
Dr. Smith was born in Jamaica and moved to the United States in 1985. He has practiced orthodontics in several states, including Washington, D.C.,New York, Michigan and Ohio. He now resides in South Florida where he provides orthodontic services for both children and adults.
Dr. Smith earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from Howard University School of Dentistry in Washington, D.C. He proudly graduated at the top of his class. Dr. Smith participates in ongoing education to keep up-to-date with the latest technology and products in the field of orthodontics. He also maintains memberships with the American Association of Orthodontists, Southern Association of Orthodontists, Dade Dental Society and other national and local civic associations.
In his personal life, Dr. Smith and his wife have two sons, he is a devoted husband and father who loves watching his sons play soccer. Dr. Smith himself is a former collegiate soccer player who still occasionally plays for recreation. When not at the office, he also enjoys karate, in which he has a black belt. Over the years, Dr. Smith has treated thousands of patients and created thousands of beautiful, healthy smiles.
